About

Adam Robbins has been teaching science since 2003 in a south coast comprehensive school. He has taught Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Psychology up to A-level.

He was Head of Science from 2013 to 2021 and has recently begun to write and speak about aspects of middle leadership. This led to the publication of his first book, Middle Leadership Mastery, in April 2021. He subsequently joined the senior leadership team, supporting teaching and learning, and overseeing the pupil premium strategy.

He currently holds the role of Lead Practitioner for whole-school CPD, working with teachers, leaders, and departments to fulfil their CPD aims—a role he also offers to other educational establishments outside his own school.

In 2019, he became the managing editor of the CogSciSci community, a grassroots organisation of 1,500 science teachers and researchers passionate about applying cognitive science to science education. He runs an annual conference for the group and has established a supportive community of science teachers through the CogSciSci Discord server.

In 2025, he completed the ILM Level 7 Diploma in Executive Coaching. He now uses this expertise to support senior leaders around the country through online coaching.

Adam is fortunate to spend Mondays working with other schools. He visits schools across the country to deliver bespoke CPD, focusing on subject-specific advice, curriculum support, coaching, and leadership training.

This experience has culminated in the writing of his second book, Unlocking Teacher Development, which is due to be published soon.
