Adam Robbins has been a science teacher since 2003. He lives and works in Bognor Regis and this is the first time he has ever written in the third person.
He has spent his career working with students from diverse backgrounds and ability teaching biology, chemistry, physics and psychology up to A-Level.
He has always had a fascination with educational research and was a long time member of the Cams Hill Science Consortium, experimenting with modelling both on paper and through ad hoc animation tools like K-Sketch
He was the Head of Science from 2013 to 2021 and has recently began to write and talk about aspects of middle leadership. This resulted in the publishing of his first book Middle Leadership Mastery in April 2021.
He currently holds the role of Lead Practitioner for whole school CPD and spends his time working with teachers, departments and leaders to fulfil their CPD aims. A role he also offers outside of his school to other educational establishments.
Recently he become the managing editor of the CogSciSci community, a grassroots organsiation of 1500 science teachers and researchers passionate about the application of cognitive science to science education. He has also established HoDSciSci, a subgroup dedicated to supporting Science middle leaders in all aspects of their complex roles.
He has spoken at events around the country on topics to do with knowledge organisation, motivation and wellbeing.
